Verisk sells data, analytics, and software tools exclusively to property-casualty insurers. Its core products help insurers price risk (standardized policy forms, rating rules, industry loss cost benchmarks), model catastrophe exposure, estimate property repair costs for claims, and detect fraud. Customers are primarily US P&C insurance carriers. Revenue comes mostly from subscription-based access to these data and analytics services, with roughly 83% generated in the US. The business is rooted in the industry-shared data pool originally built by Insurance Services Office, giving Verisk access to aggregated claims and underwriting data that individual insurers couldn't replicate alone.
