Edison International is primarily a regulated electric utility holding company. Its main subsidiary, Southern California Edison, delivers electricity to about 5 million residential and business customers across a large swath of Southern California (excluding Los Angeles). Revenue comes mainly from regulated electricity distribution rates set by state regulators. A smaller subsidiary, Edison Energy, provides energy advisory and management services to large commercial and industrial customers.
