General Motors Co. (GM)

GM designs, manufactures, and sells cars, trucks, and SUVs under four U.S. brands — Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac — plus additional brands internationally. Its primary customers are retail consumers and fleet buyers (rental companies, governments, businesses).

Revenue comes mainly from vehicle sales, with dealers acting as the distribution channel. GM Financial, its captive lending arm, generates additional income by financing vehicle purchases and leases for customers and dealers.

GM holds roughly 17% of the U.S. market, with particular strength in trucks and SUVs. It is also investing in electric vehicles across its existing brand lineup. Its Cruise autonomous vehicle unit has pulled back from commercial robotaxi operations and is now focused on personal AV technology.
