Teva manufactures and sells generic drugs, making it one of the largest generic drug suppliers in the US by prescription volume. It also sells branded specialty medicines focused on neurology and immunology (including drugs for multiple sclerosis and migraines), as well as biosimilars. Customers include retail pharmacies, hospitals, and healthcare systems across North America, Europe, Japan, Russia, and Israel. Additional revenue comes from selling active pharmaceutical ingredients to other drugmakers, contract manufacturing, and through Anda, a US distributor that wholesales generics and specialty drugs to pharmacies. Generics dominate the business; North America accounts for roughly half of total sales.
